How Red Bull got its wings?
- Dietrich Mateschitz was an Australian businessman who discovered a drink called Krating Daeng during a sales trip to Thailand in 1982.
- He discovered that this drink helped him to cure his jet lag and gave him Instant Energy.
- He tracked businessman ChaleoYoovidhya, the creator of that drink. They became business partners under a Gentleman's Agreement.
- Yoovidhya had created this energy drink, Krating Daeng under his company TC Pharma in the 1970s to help Thai truck drivers and rural laborers get through their day.
- He chose the imaginary of the BULL because of its power, the color red for perseverance while the sun in the background symbolizing energy.
- The Drink was a success throughout Thailand and Mateschitz saw the potential to take the drink global. They set up Red Bull as a company poised to take a premium version of Krating Daeng global.
- They reformulated the drink for western tastes and added carbonation. The company built the Red Bull brand over the years by spending heavily on Advertising.
- Today, Red Bull is available in 171 countries with yearly sales of 7.5 billion cans.
